The University of Procrastination

Cras, Melius·Tomorrow, Better

An institution of higher deferral, dedicated to the considered art of the not-yet. We do not rush the future. The future can wait, and frequently does.

Founded whenever we get around to it.

Our Mission

The noble and unhurried art of strategic delay

For as long as we can remember — which is to say, since we were established eventually — the University has been guided by a single, patient conviction: We do not miss deadlines. We give them room to breathe.

Where lesser institutions celebrate the hurried, the shipped, and the merely finished, we honour the considered pause. Our scholars learn that any task worth doing is worth postponing until it can be done properly — ideally over a coffee that has long since gone cold, beside a document optimistically titled thesis_final_v6_actually_final.docx. We have read the opening chapters of many important books. We fully intend to read the rest.

This is not idleness; it is idleness with a reading list. We confer no honour upon panic and award no medal for the eleventh hour reached early — the eleventh hour being, after all, where our most celebrated work is first conceived and, on a good day, briefly attempted. We arrive when we arrive. The work, we are confident, will keep. It always has.

The Faculty

Eminent minds, currently between projects

Our distinguished academics bring decades of accumulated intention to the lectern, the moment they get around to it.

Prof. Eleanor Mañana

Chair of Last-Minute Studies

A pioneer of the eleventh hour, Professor Mañana has published nothing of note and intends to do so spectacularly. Her seminal work remains forthcoming.

Dr. Marcus Idler

Professor of Tab Management

Dr. Idler maintains, at any given moment, between forty and four hundred open browser tabs, each a promise to himself that he fully intends to keep.

Dr. Priya Deferral

Dean of Deferred Outcomes

Oversees the University's distinguished record of postponed achievement. She will be returning your call shortly, and has felt that way for some years.

Admissions

Begin your application whenever you feel ready

Applications to the University are accepted on a rolling, and frankly leisurely, basis. There is no closing date. There has never been a closing date. This is the entire point.

Voices of the Student Body

In their own, eventually-offered words

Reflections from current and indefinitely-current students, submitted at their leisure.

I've been meaning to leave this review for months. The University changed my life, eventually, in ways I plan to fully appreciate once things settle down.

Jordan A.

BA in Advanced Avoidance, class of whenever

I came in with a vague intention and left with a much more elaborate one. I haven't started my dissertation, but I've read extensively about how to.

Sam R.

PhD in Almost Starting, ongoing

The faculty truly understand you. Nobody once asked me where the work was. We simply agreed it was coming, and sat with that, together.
